As an artist I want to share the astonishment I have in seeing situations and moment around me with my spectator. I stress everyday things, things that are usually not given a moment's thought. I hand the spectator opportunities to see her surroundings in a more deliberate way and call into question. Maarten Rots graduated in 2010 from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.
